Snakes are reptile that we are all familiar with. Some are poisonous and some are not harmful at all. Most species feed on invertebrates and lizards and a few species feed on small mammals, birds and even other snakes.

Snakes can be found in places ranging from arid deserts to our own backyard pools. Most snakes spend only a small percentage of their time finding food and shelter. Snakes can easily adapt to the conditions of the area and they can crawl into inappropriate places and residential homes.

Capturing snakes requires understanding and awareness of reptile behaviors. Different species behave in different ways and defend themselves in different ways: some snap and some hiss. They are capable of injecting a lethal amount of venom in one bite and in a fraction of a second.

Capturing snakes requires special equipment and protective measures. It is not recommended to try to capture snakes without the proper equipment and without the knowledge and professional experience in the field.

Land snakes are protected by law and they are not included in the list of species that constitute a hazard and therefore we do not use any pesticides against them. The correct way to remove snakes requires identifying their preferences and changing the terrain in order to create an appropriate environment for them.

If a snake is found in a room in your house, it should be captured only by a qualified snake catcher. After capturing the snake it should be turned loose in a designated area or in a non -populated area.

Since snakes penetrate people’s backyards in search for food it is recommended to prevent the suitable conditions for the development of their food sources.

RESTRAINING STRATEGIES

REMOVAL OPERATIONS ARE COMPLEMENTARY TREATMENT TO PREVENT THE PENETRATION OF SNAKES.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES THAT ARE RECOMMENDED:
  • • Prevent the formation of moisture conditions that are favorable habitats for arthropods and rodents by opening windows and ventilating the rooms.
  • • Precautionary measures to prevent the penetration of snakes include sealing points in water piping and in electrical connections.
  • • Maintain proper sanitation, remove all food items, and prevent the accumulation of insects and rodents that are staples for snakes to eat.
  • • Pest control operations against insects, arthropods and rodents, are applied by advanced spraying of pesticides in rocky areas in the adjacent courtyard and the walls of buildings.

Remember! Capturing a snake is performed only by a qualified snake catcher and should never be attempted without the proper equipment and knowledge!
